Overview
Art Instruction Schools offers a comprehensive educational program entitled Fundamentals of Art. The Fundamentals of Art program is recognized as one of the most extensive art study programs available.
The Fundamentals of Art program is designed to help students develop skills in the use of various art concepts, art tools and mediums. The student develops a broad knowledge base and familiarity with the techniques used by trained artists to develop finished pieces of art. The Fundamentals of Art program is broken down into four distinct learning segments:
1: Basic Drawing
2: Ink, Color Rendering and Design
3: Animal Drawing, Perspective and Art Mediums and Techniques
4: Figure Drawing and Portfolio
The student can enroll in the entire Fundamentals of Art program or for one segment of the program at a time depending upon the learning objectives of the student. Since the art education techniques taught build upon each other, completion of the segments in the prescribed order is mandatory.
The Fundamentals of Art program has been reviewed by the American Council on Education for college credit recommendations. The American Council on Education recommends to colleges and universities throughout the United States that a total of 24 semester hours of credit in Art Education or Studio Art be granted at the lower division associate or baccalaureate degree level for completion of the Fundamentals of Art program.
